Adopt terms and conditions can be read here. Adopt-specific terms can be found in Section 6. Make sure to read and understand these terms before placing a bid.
If your adopt comes with a name and backstory, you don't have to stick to it! Feel free to change it up however you like, that info is just there to get you started if you need it.
An adopt is a character I'll post on Twitter for auction which the winner will own at the end of it, having all the rights over said character to do whatever they want with.
Adopts are just a quick way to buy the rights to a character you like. You can use them for DND, roleplaying, writing, or just to get more artwork because you like their design! There's no waiting for a commission to be completed because as soon as you pay for them, they're yours.
I'll post the artwork on Twitter and usually, there will be a 24-hour bidding period, where people can bid in the comments below the post. There's a starting bid of X, and then a minimum increase (MI) amount, usually about £10. This means you must increase by at least £10 more than the last bidder.
Once the 24 hours are up, the highest bidder is chosen. To prevent bid sniping (waiting until the last second to cut other bidders off), a 10-minute grace period will be added to the last bid.
(If posted on YCH, this process is automated)
The winner will then be contacted, payment taken, and then I'll send them the high res files.
Yes! Just send me a DM with your bid and I'll comment it for you anonymously. Just make sure to keep an eye on the previous bids and let me know if you want to increase it to keep up with bidding.
I will send you an invoice via PayPal.
No. Adoptables are buying the rights to the character, not any sort of "token" behind the artwork itself.
Of course, this can happen with any online art with any character. There's no way to stop it, so it's down to the community to report stolen artwork and make others aware of dodgy sellers.
